Fall Run 2008

TYP 356 Northeast Friends,

I've been working with seven resorts over the past six months for our Fall Weekend and had nothing workable until last Thursday.

Norm & Janet Brust recently took a vacation on some of their familiar New York turf in the Adirondacks. They returned with the name of an exceptional hotel for our group... Longfellows Hotel & Conference Center in Saratoga Springs, New York.

I visited Longfellows on Thursday and it is our type of place. Two massive dairy barns were converted into a conference center & hotel complex. The guest rooms are oversized with many featuring vaulted ceilings and a lofted sleeping space decorated in an upscale Adirondack theme. While there, I was able to reserve, without deposit, 25 rooms for the nights of September 26 & 27. Their functions manager is currently attending a conference in Las Vegas, but has agreed to hold the rooms for our group until she and I can work out the meals and other details later this coming week.

If you are interested in a Friday-Sunday Porsche driving, shopping, eating & socializing weekend in the Adirondacks for the last weekend in September, please let me know ASAP, as I will need a better head count by next Friday.

Our negotiated room rate will be $155 per night (for 2 nights) + taxes.
Our weekend will start Friday morning September 26th and run through Sunday the 28th.
Via the Mass Pike and Northway it is roughly a 2 1/2 hour drive from Route 128. I'll be working on a scenic drive across New Hampshire & Vermont.
We will have free time on Saturday for shopping, antiquing, area museums and/or driving some of the best sports car roads in the US.
