DRUM ROLL, PLEASE !! I was going to send out the Holiday Party details a bit at a time to build interest and intrigue, but I'm so excited about the event that I'm now giving you the Full Monte. Warning, though. It happens that we have a few bucks left over in the treasury this year, so the cost is going to be subsidized and will make this a GALA EVENT. Don't get spoiled. I'm saving the cost per person 'till the end so you'll see that this party will be AN OFFER YOU CAN'T REFUSE!!

This year we have a new venue and new amenities. The party will be held in the 160 seat Tuscany Room of the Chateau Restaurant on the shore of Lake Winnecunit in Norton, MA on Sunday, January 10th from noon to 4PM. It's just 1/2 mile off of I-495 at Exit 9. The private room has its own parking lot and entrance, a waterfall lobby with coat room and separate rest rooms. Holiday decorations will be up and you will enjoy the carpeted room, the bar and the wall of windows overlooking the lake.

Here's the deal. After you check in at the table in the lobby, we'll have a welcoming social hour with cash bar. The staff will be serving passed hors d'oeuvres of scallops wrapped in bacon, baked stuffed mushroom caps and sesame chicken with two dipping sauces. Then you'll select your seat at round tables of 8 with table cloths and linen napkins to enjoy the three course served meal starting with their famous bread, butter and garden salad with house dressing. Then, from the card on the table, you'll select your entree of Chicken Cutlet Parmigiana with Penne Pasta, Broiled Scrod served with potato & vegetable or Broiled Marinated Steak Tips served with potato & vegetable. A vegetarian plate is also available. No need to select in advance -- just tell your Wait Person. Finally, we'll top things off with Ice Cream Cake Roll & Hot Fudge and coffee or tea. The cash bar will also be available for your visit throughout the party.

O.K. SO FAR? WELL, HOW ABOUT THIS!! WE HAVE ENGAGED A TRIO OF MUSICIANS OF MEMBERS OF THE BOSTON POPS for our listening and dancing pleasure! With instruments of piano, saxophone and bass they will be performing from noon to 4PM. Recall that I mentioned earlier to dig out your dancin' shoes and polish 'em up? Well, we also have a dance floor. Plan to linger after dinner to dance and enjoy the music of these accomplished professionals -- along with a cordial, perhaps?

What's the cost of all this you say ? Well, you get the holiday-decorated private room with lake views, seating at round tables, full bar, passed hors d'oeuvres, three course served meal and music & dancing with Boston Pops musicians -- with tax and gratuity included for the unbelievable price of $25 PER PERSON!! I'D CALL THAT AN OFFER YOU CAN'T REFUSE! Let's fill up the room !

For any out-of-towners who want to stay over, there is nearby lodging. There's a Holiday Inn about a mile away in Taunton, MA. Their number is 1-888-465-4329 or direct at 1-508-823-0430. If that's not to your liking there's a Days Inn, Fairfield Inn by Marriott and Holiday Inn Express in the nearby town of Middleboro. You can search their websites.

Oh, yeah. Suggested attire is 'smart casual', whatever that means -- perhaps sweater & slacks. Personally, I'm planning to wear sports coat, no tie.
