12th Annual Spring Tour

When: June 4-6, 2010
Where: The Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa, Whitefield, NH

Typ356NE 12th Annual Spring Tour registration is now open!

Similar to past years, we have reserved 40 rooms for the weekend. The package this year includes two nights accommodations in a standard room (with upgrades available), breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings, a wonderful dinner buffet on Friday night and a plated dinner Saturday night, with all taxes and gratuities included. The price per couple is $767.78, and $557.20 for a single, not including this year's reduced registration fee of $20 per person. For those of you new to the event, the registration fee helps to defray the production and mailing costs of the Tour Book you will receive prior to the event. It also helps to cover a portion of the cost of Hors d'Oeuvres at Friday and Saturday evening's cocktail receptions, which will again feature a "cash bar".

To register for the Tour, please send me a check (made out to "Typ356NE Spring Tour") for $20 single or $40 double. In order to help in the preparation of the Tour Book, please include the following information on a separate piece of paper:

  1. Your spouse's/guest's name (if applicable)
  2. Home phone number and cell phone number
  3. Home and E-mail addresses
  4. Year/model/color of the car you plan to drive in the Tour

This information is listed in the book for the benefit of the other attendees. Once you have mailed me your check and registration information (Don Osborne, 136 Washington Road, Rye, NH 03870), you can contact the Resort at (866) 484-3843, identify yourself as part of the Typ356NE Spring Tour, and make your room reservation. FYI, the standard rooms come in two categories (either "Classic" or "Historic", and a full description can be seen by logging onto the MVG website at www.mountainviewgrand.com). If you prefer, you can request an upgrade to one of their "Grand View" rooms (if available), with a corresponding package price increase to only $833.18 (double) or $622.60 (single). The room block will be held until May 14th, but I suggest you book early as, in past years, the rooms may sell out quickly. Any cancellation within 7 days of the arrival date will forfeit your one night's room deposit.

The weekend's schedule of activities will follow along the line of the past two tours. You will have several options for your drive up to Whitefield on Friday. If you prefer to caravan, groups will depart from several designated points and join up for a published drive, with a lunch stop enroute. You can also utilize the list of attendees in the Tour Book to form your own group , plan your own route, departure time, and lunch stop. Or, you can "wing it" on your own! Check in time at the Mountain View Grand is 3:00PM, with our first scheduled gathering (a Welcome Cocktail Reception) at 6:00PM.

On Saturday morning, an optional scenic drive will be planned, but there will also be time during the day to take advantage of the many activities offered at the resort including: Health & Fitness Center, heated outdoor swimming pool, indoor pool & heated whirlpool spa & sauna, horseback riding & hiking, tennis on their classic clay courts, and scenic Biplane flights from nearby Mt. Washington Airport. Weather permitting, you might even choose to take the mountain road to the top of nearby Mt. Washington, or take the scenic "Cog Railway" to the top. The afternoon will end with a second cocktail party and plated 3-course dinner. There will be plenty to do to fill out your weekend, so plan to join us and have a great time.
