This year&apos;s Holiday Party was again another wonderful afternoon with our friends of the
TYP356ne club. The social hour turned into a full two hours, with an ample supply of appetizers.
We were treated to monster prawns and vegetables with dip, Sesame seed covered chicken tenders on
skewers, and very tasty meatballs in tomato sauce. The meal was served and the room went quiet while
we all devoured the fish, steak, and pasta with broccoli dishes that were put before us. Again there
were a lot of donated raffle gifts, from motor oil, to beautiful photographs, along with a lot of fine
wines and Porsche memorabilia.
This Holiday Party was the party of change for us, with the ending of Tom Gentz as our 2010-11
President. He did a good job of holding the Board in check and worked hard to keep our Club headed
forward with fresh ideas. He is to be congratulated on a job well done. Tom will now continue on the
Board as our Technical Coordinator.
We now welcome our new President Ralph Hadley to the helm, and Dennis McGurk as our new Vice President.
Ralph, as many of you know, has been in the Club for many years and served as Vice President under Tom
Gentz. He has the skills and desire to take us further down the road less traveled. With the support of
the membership helping him find new and interesting ideas to present at the Board Meetings, I am sure
that TYP356ne will be the kind of Club that we all will enjoy in the coming years.

On Saturday, October 22, 2011, over 20 members and guests were treated to a wonderful
drive and BBQ on Cape Cod. Chip Bechtold lead our group to the
Heritage Gardens and Museum. The Heritage houses about 25 antique American automobiles
and motorcycles in a Shaker Barn reproduction.
After we toured the Heritage Museum, Vic Verdina lead the group along the beautiful
shore of Cape Cod Bay. We drove through villages, and by cranberry bogs. It was a lovely
trip, as the weather cooperated, so members could enjoy the ride.
Alan Mowry met the group farther out on the Cape and then we followed Alan toward
the tip of Cape Cod. When we arrived at Chip&apos;s home where we were treated
to cheese and crackers, ribs
bathed in BBQ sauce, cheeseburgers, home made baked beans and coleslaw, a wonderful
salad, and cookies for dessert.
The Cape Cod tour was a successful partnership between Chip Bechtold, Vic Verdina, and
Alan Mowry. They all participated equally in the planning and execution of our wonderful day.
Thanks to all who made the drive a successful one.
This type of low key, well planned event is what makes TYP356ne such a wonderful club.

Saturday October 15th. 16 cars and approximately 30 Type356ne members and guests
met Craig and Amy Bush just off of Exit 93 on I-95 in Clarks Falls Connecticut.
From there Craig and Amy lead us on a wonderful and spirited, 35 mile drive through
back roads of beautiful Connecticut farmland. The weather was absolutely perfect
for the most enjoyable drive I have ever participated in as a club member. Craig
lead the drive in his fabulously restored 1956 356 A Speedster setting a very
enjoyable pace through some of the nicest, rural, fall, Connecticut scenery I
have ever seen. The roads he took us on were tailor made for our little cars.
Upon arrival at Craig and Amy&apos;s beautiful home overlooking the Mystic seaport
we were greeted by their cute, and very well mannered black Labrador retriever
puppy Willow. Willow was definitely the star of the show happily greeting all
of her new 356 friends. While Willow was saying hello Craig and Amy served
hardy minestrone soup as an appetizer soon followed by barbequed burgers, and
hotdogs served with a wonderful buffet of home cooked baked beans, rice medley,
and delicious deviled eggs. This was followed with home baked chocolate brownies
and cookies.
The home Craig and Amy had built a few years ago is stunning on the inside and
out with an ocean port view that is really incomparable especially when lined up
on their back lawn overlooking the water were the club members 356 Speedsters,
roadsters, coupes and early 911s. The Bush family certainly treated the lucky
club members in attendance to a fabulous afternoon delight.
This is absolutely a perfect example of the members making Typ356ne the fantastic
car club that it is.
Thank you so much Amy, Craig, and Willow Bush for a fabulous, perfect fall day.

<title>Kittredge Car Museum</title>

Ten car loads of TYP356ne members and their guests drove to Leverett, MA this morning and
were treated to a catered lunch on Michael Kittredge&apos;s country estate, then a tour of his
car barn. There must have been 25 Porsches all the way from a 1954 Coupe up to the
latest 911 Turbo with every car model in between. Out of his stable of Porsches,
Michael drove his silver Carerra GT to the next stop, the Kringle Candle Company
in Bernardston, MA.
The drive out was on scenic rural roads on an 80 degree, record breaking temperature
day, in mid October.
Michael asked Wayne Carini from The Discovery Channel&apos;s Chasing Classic Cars to attend
and make some welcoming remarks along with Michael. Wayne also hosted a TYP356ne
coffee session at his business F 40 Restoration in Connecticut last year. We had
an opportunity to speak with Michael and Wayne as TYP356ne members.
Before the 100 or so attendees visited Michael&apos;s Car Barn on the property, we were
treated to a catered buffet lunch on the patio. It was catered by the staff at
Kringle Candle&apos;s Kitchen Table restaurant at the Kringle Candle Store. The menu was
a treat and no expense was spared to welcome TYP356ne members and guests.
TYP356ne wants to thank Michael Kittredge and his restoration expert Wayne Carini for
a wonderful outing in rural Western Massachusetts. TYP356ne also appreciates the
Northeast Region of the PCA for including TYP356ne in their plans to visit Michael&apos;s
county estate and the Kringle Candle Company.

<title>Loafers&apos; Lunch #2</title>

What a great idea Bill Collins had to calender the TYP356ne Loafers Lunches for 2011.
The second LL was held in the south at Lebaron Hills Country Club. Nine members met
at the Star Drive in Berkley, MA at 11:30am. We left there at 11:45 for a short drive
to Lebaron Hills Country Club where we enjoyed a nice leisurely lunch and talked about
everything under the sun, including 356&apos;s. I have driven the Lakeville, Rochester,
Middleboro area many times and had intended to do the &quot;I will lead and they will
follow&quot; kind of a drive until our fellow member Dominic Falconeiri, who lives in
Lakeville, signed up. I asked Dominic if he would lead us around his neck of the woods,
which of course he agreed to do. We spent a little over an hour cruising around at a
nicely paced, sometimes fast, sometimes slow, drive, and everyone was on the road to home
by 2:30pm.
If you have never driven in this area you should make a point to do so, as you will not
be disappointed. There are lots of lakes, cranberry bogs and endless twisty uncongested
rural country roads that add up to one thing, perfect for driving your 356.
Loafers Lunch #2 was a lot of fun, it reminded me of the early days of the TYP356ne
when small groups would get together and drive there 356&apos;s just because we could.
KTF, Bill.
