The Typ356ne Porsche Club held it 8th Annual Spring Tour on June 2-4, 2006 at the Ocean Edge Resort on Cape Code in Brewster, Massachusetts. There were 79 club members (spouses, friends, family members) who attended this annual event. It spite of some rain, drizzle, fog to see 34 356's and 6 other Porsches for a total of 40 cars was exciting. We all met in Norwell, Mass, received drivers instructions and set off in two groups for a brisk drive through the back roads down to the Resort. The Tour booklet (outstanding) was prepared by the Tour Meister Peter Crawford and his able team (Bill Collins, Dick Chiasson, Len Cannizzaro) with help from Jim O'Hare and Chip Bechtold and contained everything a person would desire for a well planned tour.
Driving excellent preplanned routes and various rest stops (to see the sights) the group had a wonderful lunch at "The Aqua Grille". We then proceeded to the Ocean Edge Resort. From check in to check out the Resort accommodated our every desires. Dinner on Friday night after a cocktail reception the dinner was held in the Carriage House. A outstanding Cape Cod Shore dinner including Native Lobster was served. No one went away hungry and of course conversations abounded at every table.
On Saturday morning after breakfast (perfect way to start the day) the group had a quick drive to Provincetown, Mass. for lunch (Napi's Restaurant) and then members walked around Provincetown and visited at all the great shops.
On Saturday night the group started with a cocktail party then had a delightful dinner (Surf and Turf) at the Resorts Bay Pines Pavilion. Several speakers led by Peter Crawford and Bob DiCorpo (President) talked about the tour and next years plans. Peter was presented with a gift from the group for his outstanding effort for this years tour.
Sunday morning (after breakfast) the group got together and had their annual group photo. The overwhelming consensus that in spite of the weather, the accommodations were outstanding, the various drives great and most importantly the camaraderie amongst the club members to be treasured.
