../.. On Saturday, January 31, 2009, TYP356ne held its first Tech session at Tom Gentz (clubs tech chairperson) home garage in Rhode Island. About 20 members attended the session. The group enjoyed coffee and donuts supplied by Jim Hannum. Thanks, Jim! <br><br>The subject was how to make patch panels with a planishing hammer. Demonstrations of a heat gun and wire wheel tool called the "Wheel of Death" were done on how to remove undercoating. Paint removal using a less toxic and safer paint remover called Peel Away was demonstrated with great success. Rainer Cooney also attended and assisted tech chair Tom Gentz in an impromptu demonstration on how to remove paint with a razor blade. <br><br> Tom showed the group a patch panel that had multiple angles placed in it and it was shown welded to the chassis of the 1967 Porsche 911 coupe. The panel was made with his planishing hammer. Other welding techniques were discussed that will be available in the next TYP356ne NEwsletter. See it for details on the items demonstrated. <br><br> After the tech session, lunch was served.
